Dartmouth High class of 1953 to host 70th reunion

Jul 20, 2023
The Dartmouth High Class of 1953 is gathering classmates for its 70th reunion on July 24 and 25.

The attendees will celebrate and remember their teenage years at the Reservation Country Club function room in Mattapoisett on both days, starting at 12:30 p.m.  On Monday, they will have a traditional New England clam boil with chowder, lobster and all the normal ingredients, catered by John Saunders.  They will also be entertained by a local author and artist of Dartmouth, Jane Bregoli, who will talk about her book The Goat Lady and its subject Noellie Houle, a well known personality of Dartmouth.  In addition, all classmates will receive, as a memento of this reunion, a signed copy of the book by MS Bregoli.

On Tuesday, some classmates will go on a boat tour of New Bedford Harbor from 10am to 11am, which will depart from Pier 3 in New Bedford and then all attendees will enjoy a light lunch at the Reservation CC function room.

This class has had a long history of reunions every five years since 1953.  Now at the age of 88 many are not able or willing to attend but we will have a significant collection getting together this year, including several coming from great distances.  This includes those from Texas, Montana, and Pennsylvania. In addition, greetings from many who could not come in person have been received and will be read to the gathered classmates.  Many have also invited family members and friends to join the class for this celebration.
