Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society to hold developmental meeting

Jan 5, 2016

The Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society is starting the new year with a preview of upcoming events and a brainstorming session.

On Sunday, Jan. 10, the Board of Directors invites members of the society and the public to join in at the Russells Mills Schoolhouse. The meeting, which starts a 2 p.m., will highlight various programs that will be held at the space throughout the year, including guest speakers and student activities.

After the preview, the group will be hosting its first ever “threshing meeting.” The society describes a threshing meeting as a brainstorming session where no decision is made, but through discussion “the chaff can be separated from the grain.”

Participants will be asked to offer an idea or suggestion regarding the future of the organization. The society is looking for input regarding the distribution and responsibility of duties for Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society members, schedules for meetings and presentations, and ideas for future program topics.

The meeting is planned to conclude at 3:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

The schoolhouse is located at 1205 Russells Mills Road.
