Mar 7, 2022
Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society will be hosting a field trip to the site of the oldest settlement in old Dartmouth, in what is now Acushnet, on Sunday, March 13 at 1:30 p.m.
Max Isaksen and Don Plant will lead a one-hour guided walking tour of the area that will stop at three landmarks where the story of early English settlement will be explained.
The tour will call on sources from Plymouth Colony records, notes, sketches, and maps to tell the story of the area.
The tour will meet at the Acushnet Council on Aging at 59 ½ South Main St.
The full walking tour will be less than a mile long and will include portions of dirt paths through Keating Woods. Proper footwear is recommended.
A rain date is set for March 20 at the same time.
