Dartmouth homes get in the holiday spirit

Dec 18, 2022

It may not be a white Christmas, but homes across Dartmouth are keeping the holiday spirits bright with festive lights and ornate displays.

On Azalea Drive, crowds of residents came out to see all sorts of holiday wonder at the Botelho household. The display includes all sorts of lights, Frosty the Snowman, and a replica of Santa’s workshop.

Cotton Candy lane lives up to its name in sweet displays, with many homes having large inflatables along the sidewalks and all sorts of green and red lights.

At the Caffrey home on Bittersweet Lane, there are star showers and snowflakes projected on the garbage, Star Wars inflatables on the front lawn, and lights adoring most of the property.

Responsible for the decor at the South Dartmouth lawn are sons Alex, 19, and Luke, 16. According to mother Karen, the family likes to start setting up on the Saturday/ Sunday afternoon following Thanksgiving and finish that night so they can enjoy the glow of the lights while we have Christmas  music blasting through the portable speaker.

“Thankfully our neighbors tolerate (and some even say they too enjoy) our spirit,” she said.
