MATTAPOISETT — A missing Mattapoisett man was found by a Dartmouth K9, police say.

According to Dartmouth police, at approximately 4 p.m. on May 9, the Mattapoisett Police Department requested assistance from the department’s K9 Division with locating a non-verbal male with dementia.

Upon responding, Dartmouth officer Jared White and K9 partner Tyr tracked the missing male based off of an article of clothing. After narrowing the search radius down, the missing male was safely located lying on the ground behind a woodpile.

“This is a great example of departments using their collective resources in order to achieve a positive result,” Dartmouth Police Chief Brian Levesque said.
