Dartmouth man arrested after assaulting officers
Police arrested a Dartmouth resident for assaulting police officers after stopping his vehicle on Cross Road on Saturday, September 3.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., Dartmouth Police stopped Daniel Gill, of Old Fall River Road. The sixty-two-year-old operator became argumentative and aggressive towards the officers speaking to him, said police.
The officers attempted to take Gill into custody in response to his demeanor, at which time he became combative and physically assaulted the officers, said police.
Gill was eventually restrained, said police. He was charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and threats to commit a crime.
Neither Gill nor the involved officers were injured as a result of the confrontation.
