Dartmouth man arrested for using stolen credit cards
Following an investigation into stolen credit cards, New Bedford Police arrested a 39-year-old Dartmouth man on January 12.
Police arrested Kevin John Amaral, 39, of 140 Russells Mills Road, after he allegedly used cards stolen from a vehicle on Osborne Street in Dartmouth. Police located Amaral at the gas pumps at Haars Express at 775 Brock Avenue, New Bedford.
Amaral was charged with three counts of receiving a stolen credit card; three counts of larceny under $250; one count of larceny over $250; three counts of improper use of a credit card under $250; one count of improper use of a credit card over $250; and a warrant charge.
Amaral was charged with using the stolen credit card at Walgreens Pharmacy, 1103 Kempton Street; Cumberland Farms, 142 Rockdale Avenue; 7-Eleven, 389 Rockdale Avenue; and CVS Pharmacy, 1145 Kempton Street.
Dartmouth police charged Amaral with breaking and entering, larceny, and improper use of a credit card.
The arrest was made following a joint investigation by New Bedford and Dartmouth police.
