A Dartmouth resident struck a Fairhaven man with his vehicle in the parking lot of Knuckleheads Sports Bar and Grill on MacArthur Drive the night of August 7, according to Bristol County District Attorney's Office. The man later succumbed to his injuries and died.

New Bedford Police and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the district attorney’s office are investigating the unattended death. 

Shortly before 7 p.m., New Bedford Police received multiple 911 calls reporting that a male had been struck by a vehicle in the parking lot.  The victim, who was later identified as John Blomgren, 36, of Fairhaven, was transported to Saint Luke’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident is a 56-year-old Dartmouth man. He remained on scene and rendered aid to the victim before paramedics arrived.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. No criminal charges have been filed.
