Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust hosts December events

Dec 7, 2021

Several activities are scheduled in December by the Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust .

A gingerbread hike will be held throughout December at Knowles-Padanaram Reserve, Smith Neck Road.

Gingerbread men are attached to trees at the Smith Neck Road side of the trail, near the small parking area. Email kendra@dnrt.org to report how many gingerbread you find for a chance to win a book. This is a self-guided hike.

A women’s walk will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 12 at Parsons Reserve, Horseneck Road. Land Steward Leah McFarland will lead this retrospective hike

A gift-wrapping service will be offered from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15 at the Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust headquarters, 318 Chase Road,

Bring holiday gifts to the location and volunteers will wrap them. Participants must register for a 15-minute time slot; a maximum of five gifts will be wrapped during that time. Anyone with more than five gifts can sign up for additional time slots.

The recommended donation is $3 per gift. Cider and treats will be served.

A Paskamansett Woods Reserve retrospective night hike will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21 at the reserve on Chase Road.

Land Manager Linda Vanderveer will lead the night hike through Paskamansett Woods, which includes a stop to listen for barred owls.
