Dartmouth officers exposed to fentanyl during traffic stop

Two Dartmouth police officers were sent to the hospital due to fentanyl exposure during a traffic stop.

According to Dartmouth police, the exposure happened when the officers pulled over a driver on State Road on Saturday. The suspect’s wallet and vehicle allegedly contained the potent drug.

The officers were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital. They were treated and released.

The driver, Jarad Barbosa, 29, of Fall River, was arrested and charged with two counts of having outstanding warrants, both drug related. Additional charges associated with FEntanyl possession are pending.
