Dartmouth resident killed in Acushnet crash

DARTMOUTH – A 27-year-old Dartmouth man was killed in an Acushnet bicycle crash Dec. 22, according to social media reports.

James Leandre was killed when the bicycle he was riding collided with a large truck, according to The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office is investigating the incident, which took place near 50 South Main St., Acushnet at about 12:30 p.m. The incident appears to be an accident, with no foul play or recklessness suspected, according to The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

Leandre was an avid cyclist and was involved in local charitable efforts, according to social media reports. He worked as a music instructor at Dream Out Loud Center in New Bedford, according to reports.
