A Sears spokesperson has confirmed that the Dartmouth Sears and Sears Auto Center will be closing this fall, but the store will remain open until then.

The number of employees that will be affected is not yet available, but the spokesperson says that the affected employees will be eligible for severance pay and could apply at other Sears or Kmart stores.

More than 180 Sears stores have already closed.

Sears filed for bankruptcy in October 2018, and announced an approximately $5.2 billion potential sale to ESL Investments, Inc. on January 17, subject to approval by the bankruptcy court.
