Dartmouth woman charged with cocaine possession

A Dartmouth woman was arrested on cocaine charges following a shots fired investigation in New Bedford, according to New Bedford Police.

Stephanie Conigo, 35, of Dartmouth was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of an open container of alcohol and possession of a stun gun.

The arrest was made after New Bedford police responded to a Shot Spotter activation, which indicates possible gunfire, in the area of Griffin Court in New Bedford shortly after midnight Wednesday, May 3.

Police located a vehicle that had been damaged by gunfire, police reported. Inside the vehicle, police found 17 baggies of cocaine packaged in a manner for street-level sales, a stun gun, an open bottle of alcohol and $395, police said.

Conigo was present in the vehicle along with Roni Maocho of New Bedford, who was arrested on the same charges as Conigo.

The shots fired incident remains under investigation, New Bedford police reported.
