David J. Camara, 60, of New Bedford died Nov. 3 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in New Bedford, the son of Beatrice (Martin) Perry of Dartmouth and the late Manuel Camara, Jr. and step-son of Robert F. Perry, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.

Mr. Camara was the proprietor of Manuel Camara, Jr. Insurance Agency.

An avid golfer, he was a member of the Allendale Country Club and the Country Club of New Bedford, where he was also a Men's Fourball Champion in 1980 and 1981.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather; nine siblings, Gail P. Camara-Marks of Freetown, Steven J. Camara of Dartmouth, Michael F. Perry of New Bedford, Susan I. Perry and Robert J. Camara, both of Acushnet, Judith A. Camara of Yarmouthport, Christopher F. Perry of Dartmouth, Jay J. Perry of New Bedford and Melissa H. Parker of Dartmouth; several nieces and nephews.
