Delfina T. (Tiburcio) Amaral, 86

Delfina T. (Tiburcio) Amaral, 86, of Dartmouth, died Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at St. Luke's Hospital following a period of declining health. She was the widow of Marcelino Amaral and daughter of the late Joao and Maria (Da Trindade) Tiburcio.

Born in Ribeira Quente, St. Michael, Azores, she immigrated to New Bedford in 1964 and resided in Dartmouth since 1974.

Mrs. Amaral was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church.

She was employed as a stitcher at several local mills including Marco Clothing.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and she also enjoyed crocheting in her leisure time.

Special thanks to Mrs. Amaral's personal care attendants, Lina DeSousa and Donna Sylvia for the wonderful care they provided and also to the nurses and staff at St. Luke's Hospital.

Her family includes her daughter, Martha Silva and her husband, Altino of Dartmouth; her sister, Elidia Da Silva of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren, Brandon and Kaitlyn Silva and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Joao Tiburcio, Egidio Tiburcio, Maria Medeiros, Dina Medeiros, Lupercia Medeiros and Ester Tiburcio.

Her funeral was conducted Monday, January 27 with a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church. Interment in St. John Cemetery.
