Deolinda Nogueira, 81
Deolinda "Linda" (Morgado) Nogueira, 81, of Dartmouth passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her daughter Lori Ann on Saturday, November 26, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Gilbert "Sonny" Nogueira.
Linda was born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Joaquina) Morgado. She resided in North Dartmouth for 46 years and the last 3 years at Avalon Nursing Home in Warwick. She was a communicant of St. George Church.
Mrs. Nogueira worked payroll at Morse Cutting Tools. She also was an administrative assistant at Goodyear, Almy Insurance, and Cooper Insurance. Linda graduated at the top of her class at Kinyon-Campbell Business School. She was in the Woman's Auxiliary for the VFW Post 6643 in East Freetown. She loved to dance with Sonny, listen to music, sing, roller skate, play cards, bowl, and sunbathe. She loved animals. Linda gave to the poor and donated to several charities. Her greatest love and joy was spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori Ann Ventura of Enfield, CT, and her son Michael W. Nogueira and his wife Patrice of E. Freetown; her grandchildren, Neil and Harmony Ventura, and Amber, Nathan, and Mikayla Nogueira; her great-granddaughter, Mia Ann Ventura; a son-in-law, Peter Ventura; and many godchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Hilda M. Albino.
Her funeral mass will be Monday, December 5, 2016 at 10 a.m. in St. George Church, 12 Highland Ave., Westport. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford.
