Discussion on Lloyd Center's new Welcome Center April 28
On Thursday, April 28, the Lloyd Center will host a panel discussion on its pursuit of a Welcome Center with Living Building Challenge certification, the building industry’s most ambitious sustainable construction performance standards.
The Welcome Center will house a bus drop-off shelter, interior and exterior meeting/teaching space, informational displays and compost-toilets. For additional information about the Living Building Challenge, visit living-future.org.
In addition, the Center will present the 2016 George G. Haydock Award. This is the Center’s most prestigious award and is presented annually to an individual, selected by the staff and board of directors of the Lloyd Center, who is deemed to have made an outstanding contribution to protecting our coastal environment.
The Annual Meeting will take place in the Manton Community Room at the Westport Free Public Library, located at 408 Old County Road in Westport. Members of the public are invited to a welcoming reception from 6 to 6:30 p.m. and stay for the Annual Meeting and presentation of the George G. Haydock Award. This will be followed by the Campaign presentation at 7 p.m.
