DNRT to host archeology walk at Destruction Brook Woods

May 5, 2016

Join Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust (DNRT) for an Archeology Walk exploring some of the archaeological sites at Destruction Brook Woods on Saturday, May 14 at 9 a.m.

Holly Herbster, Senior Archaeologist at the Public Archaeology Lab in Pawtucket, RI will lead the walk. The 280-acre Destruction Brook Woods Reserve includes miles of walking trails, mature woodlands that include American Beech and Atlantic White Cedar, unusual rock formations and Destruction Brook itself which once powered the historic mills of Russells Mills.

The walk will start from the Destruction Brook Woods parking lot on Slade’s Corner Road at 9:00 a.m. Please bring water and dress appropriately for the day's weather. Usually only the worst weather will cancel a DNRT walk. If the weather is questionable, check dnrt.org or DNRT’s Facebook page, or call 508-525-9266 for cancellation information on the morning of the walk. For directions or further information, call DNRT at 508-991-2289 or visit dnrt.org.
