A cure for sweet tooth is coming to Dartmouth. The Donut Factory is expanding to 246 State Road.

The exuberant coffee shop has a location in Fairhaven. They offer specialty donuts, over the top milkshakes, burgers on donuts rather than buns and other savory treats like garlic bread, pizza and hotdogs.

In Dartmouth, the locally owned shop will have some competition with Dunkin’ just across the road.

Additional problems could come from traffic concerns with a tough turn to Hathaway Road while cars come speeding down the hill towards the mall.

“It’s just a bad location [for] any type of a business that has a lot of foot traffic,” said Select Board member Shawn McDonald. “It is going to be all foot traffic [with] limited parking ... it is very concerning.”

It is unknown when the donut shop is set to open, but signage has been installed on the building where LA Spin once was.

Owners of the business were unable comment before publication.
