Ducky Dash 5K to benefit Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary
The Annual Ducky Dash 5K Road Race to benefit the Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary will be held on Aug. 8 at 8 a.m.
Participants can run, walk or roll (strollers are allowed) along the scenic course that starts at the sanctuary and runs to Gooseberry Island and back.
The cost is $20 per adult or child, and each entrant receives a duck entry, included in the registration fee that allows them to participate in our Duck Derby Fundraiser on August 15 (need not be present to win) where over 5,500 rubber ducks are raced on the incoming tide. The first duck over the finish line wins dinner for two to anywhere in the world with round trip airfare and two nights of lodging.
If the winner is under 18, the duck entry will be registered to an adult in the same household.
Online registration is open until noon on August 6 or in person starting at 7 a.m. the morning of the race.
The Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary is located at 1280 Horseneck Road in Westport, although much of the sanctuary's land is also in Dartmouth.
