A Lecture by Bob Harding on Sunday, February 10, at 2:30 PM will be presented at the Society Headquarters in the Russells Mills Schoolhouse.

Senior Local History scholar, Member of the Dartmouth Historical Commission, President of the Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society, and durable local tournament competitor Bob Harding, will present a chronicle of the events which brought this wonderful game to our area. Many contemporary newspaper resources will be presented along with other documentary evidence of how the game got started here and how it differed from the contemporary game.. Four area golf clubs, two long gone (The Fairhaven Golf Club and the old Hawthorn Golf Club on Hawthorn Street, New Bedford) and two still with us but much transformed, (Reservation Golf Club in Mattapoisett and The New Bedford Country Club in Dartmouth) will be discussed.

Join us and bring your friends (those not down South playing golf) and be stimulated by the tale of our local introduction to this wonderful game. Light Refreshments will be provided. A $5.00 Donation is recommended.
