Eric Thomas Anthony, 43, passed away at Tufts New England Hospital on October 7, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of John Paul Anthony and Joyce Ann (Cabral) Anthony.

Born in New Bedford, he resided in Dartmouth and was a 1996 graduate of Dartmouth High School. He did volunteer work at the Schwartz Center and Gifts to Give. Eric was a student at the Schwartz Center, a member of M.O.L.I.F.E., Inc, and Community Connections.

He enjoyed music, swimming, family vacations at Cuttyhunk and competing in the Special Olympics in swimming and track at both the local, regional and state levels, winning numerous awards. He had many friends at Special Olympics, M.O.L.I.F.E., and Community Connections. He could always be seen with a beautiful smile and a joyful disposition for all. He is now smiling with his Memere.

In addition to his parents, he was survived by two sisters, Julianne and Jennie Mae Robinson of Dartmouth; nine aunts and uncles, Thomas Anthony and his wife Kim of Mattapoisett, Nancy Kleinowskis and her husband Steve of Fairhaven, Peter Anthony and his wife Cathy and Kathleen Anthony, all of Dartmouth, Carol Hughes and her husband Robert and Paul Anthony and his wife Ruth all of New Bedford, Patricia Avila and Dennis Cabral of Dartmouth and Robert Cabral of Taunton; several great aunts; a great uncle; and many cousins.

He was the grandson of the late Louis and Blanche Anthony and Manuel and Julia Cabral.
