Fall River man arrested after allegedly breaking into Dartmouth home

A Fall River man was arrested and charged for allegedly breaking into a home in Dartmouth Thursday night.

Police responded to Bakerville Road at 11 p.m. after a resident had called and said someone allegedly broke into their home.

The homeowner told police they were woken by a loud noise, and discovered a man had entered into the home through a window. While confronting the man, he fled from the house on foot.

When officers arrived, they searched the area where they located the man hiding in the wood line next to the home.

The man, identified as Roman Adnell, 44, of Fall River was arrested and charged with unarmed burglary and vandalism.

According to police, an investigation revealed that before Adnell allegedly climbed through the window, he tried to hit the front door with a large rock to get inside.
