Sep 2, 2021

Dartmouth Fire Department District 3 received a $25,000 grant from the Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation during a check presentation ceremony Tuesday, Aug. 31.

The donation was used to purchase Jaws of Life equipment to assist in the extraction of people trapped in motor vehicle crashes.

The award is part of $325,000 in grants currently being awarded to fire departments in the 13 communities throughout southeastern Massachusetts and northern Rhode Island where the bank has a branch office location.

The grant was presented to mark the 25th anniversary of the foundation.

“For the past 25 years, our foundation has been supporting the neighborhoods where our customers live and work. This grant is our way of celebrating that accomplishment and thanking the brave men and women of the Dartmouth Fire Department who consistently put themselves at risk on our community’s behalf,” said Patrick Murray, president of the foundation and president and CEO of the bank. “We hope the funds will assist the fire departments in their critical, life-saving efforts throughout the communities we serve.”
