Free Allens Pond programs introduce children to nature

Aug 30, 2021

Allens Pond, a Mass Audubon sanctuary, will be hosting free Nature Discovery and STEAM programs for children ages 3-5 and a caretaker from 10-11 a.m. Tuesdays through October.

Through these hands-on, nature-based experiences, children will create art, participate in STEAM activities, listen to stories, and explore the outdoors. Each week has its own theme that focuses on sensory development and environmental conservation.

The programs are free through support from the Helen E. Ellis Charitable Trust, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee. Pre-registration is required. When registering, include all children and accompanying adults.

The program subjects are: Oct. 5, apples; Oct. 12, rocks; Oct. 19, bats; Oct. 26, pumpkins; Nov. 2, coyotes; and Nov. 9, backyard birds.

Programs will meet at the Stone Barn Farm, 786 Horseneck Road, Dartmouth.
