Grace Ann (Smith) Plante, 84, of Dartmouth passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 23, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Adolphe J. Plante, Jr.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Charles and Alice (McNulty) Smith, she lived in Dartmouth for most of her life, and was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.

Grace was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her entire life to her family.

Survivors include four children, Donna Cordeiro and her husband Dave of Dartmouth, Steven Plante and his wife Kathleen of Acushnet, Dale Rogers and her husband John of Dartmouth, and Susan Sylvia and her husband Paul of Acushnet; her daughter-in-law, Laila Plante of Carver; a sister, Marion Popielnicki and her husband Edwin of Pocasset; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Alan Plante and the sister of the late Edmund Smith, Alice Telford, and Kathleen Slater.

Due to renovations at St. Mary's Church, her memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Parish Center, 783 Dartmouth Street. Visiting hours are omitted.
