Grants for high school artists through the South Coast Artists, Inc.

Sep 7, 2018

Emerging young artists who are current high school students are invited to apply for a grant South Coast Artists, Inc. during the month of September.

Students must live in or attend school in Dartmouth or Westport. According to youth grants chairperson Heather Stivison, these $500 grants are designed to encourage emerging young artists to explore their field of interest by helping cover costs of art materials and supplies, art related travel, training, classes, apprenticeships, or other expenses toward the completion of a creative project or goal.

In addition to helping aspiring artists take a class or create a project, the juried grant award is also a valuable addition to a college application for art majors. A simple recommendation from a teacher, mentor, or other non-family member is required. Applications and recommendation forms can be downloaded from the “Community” tab at southcoastartists.org and must be submitted by October 1, 2018.
