Event has passed
Learn about the power of wind at a free virtual talk on Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 7 to 9 p.m.
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has already authorized six potential wind farm sites off the south coast of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
When fully built, these sites could generate more than 1,200 GW of clean energy.
Participants will hear about wind energy and how it can generate jobs and clean power, as well as how the public can get involved in this burgeoning industry.
Guest speakers include former director of the Port of New Bedford Ed Washburn, Offshore Wind consultant Paul Vigeant, Nathaniel Mayo from Vineyard Wind, Heidi Ricci from Mass Audubon, and UMass Dartmouth researcher Kevin Stokesbury.
The talk is sponsored by a variety of groups including UMass Dartmouth, Mass Audubon, SRPEDD, New England for Offshore Wind, and the Sustainability Initiative.
It will be held via Zoom with the meeting ID: 969 3940 4491 and passcode: 853634.
