The Harper and the Minstrel to play Padanaram Village Farmer's Market
This Friday, The Harper and the Minstrel returns to the Dartmouth Farmer's Market.
The band will perform its brand of renaissance and baroque music that transforms the listener to another era using instruments such as the clairseach (a medieval, wire-strung, Irish harp), renaissance gothic and celtic folk harps, classical guitar, bowed and plucked dulcimer, flutes, recorders and pennywhistles.
The band's Jay and Abby Michaels are local talents who have been featured up and down the east coast at music festivals for over a decade.
Local shoppers, music lovers, and students are invited hear the Harper and the Minstrel to learn from two music majors who have made music the passion of their lives long before they graduated with bachelor degrees from Anna Maria College and Westfield State College.
The husband and wife team are both natural educators in the field of music and are happy to share their educational experiences, talent and insights with all who care to learn.
Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and to share some of the music appreciation exhibited by this talented duo. A variety of their DVDs will be available for sale after each performance.
