Helfand Farm Community Gardens seedling sale

The Helfand Farm Community Gardens will host its annual vegetable and tomato seedling sale on May 13 and 14.

Saturday's sale will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will include free gardening workshops at the 318 Chase Road location, in addition to snacks, seed bombs, and heirloom tomatoes and vegetables. Sunday's 10 a.m.-2 p.m. sale will also include heirloom produce and seed bombs for sale.

At 10 a.m. on Saturday, Derek Christianson of Brix Bounty Farm will talk about using nitrogen effectively throughout the season. At 11 a.m., Steve Murray of Heart Beets Farm will discuss organic pest control.

Attendees can purchase tomatoes from 24K heirloom tomatoes and vegetables, flowers, and perennials raised by gardeners. All proceeds will go directly to the Helfand Gardens.
