Here’s what the Council on Aging has planned for December

December is here, and the Dartmouth Council on Aging will be hosting a full schedule of events/activities.

Here’s what’s coming up this month:

The art of Christine Bean

An exhibit featuring the works of 102-year-old artist Christine Bean will be on display at the Center through January.

Single Senior Supper Club

This will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6. Cost is $5. Pre-registration is required.

Holiday Chocolate Bark with Nina

Learn to make three kinds of bark and take samples to share on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 1 p.m.

Cost is $5. Pre-registration is required.

Internet Safety and Security

This hands-on class will be held Friday, Dec. 9 and 16 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Cost is $5 per session. Pre-registration is required and participants must bring their own computer.

Hospice 101- A Conversation

This will be held Monday, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m.

The goal of the conversation is to clear up common misconceptions about what Hospice services provide.

Walk-ins are welcome.

Let it snow Paper Snowflakes

Hosted by Dartmouth artist Jane Bregoli, this free craft session will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 1 p.m. Pre-registration is required.

Blithewold Mansion Holiday Tour and Tea

The tour will be held Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 9 a.m.

Cost is $50. Pre-registration is  required.

Around Town Holiday Displays excursion

The excursion will be held Thursday, Dec. 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Hop in one of the Center’s vans and tour the best holiday lights in town!

Pre-registration is required.

Holiday Party at Rachel’s Lakeside

The party will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21 at noon.

Cost is $5.00 Pre-registration required. Rachel’s Lakeside is located at 950 State Road.

Real ID workshop presented by the RMV

The workshop, which will be an overview on Real ID,  will be held Thursday, Dec. 15 at 10:30 a.m.

Pre-registration is required.

“What You Need To Know About Identity Theft”

Learn how to recognize and protect yourself from identity theft through a presentation conducted by Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn III and Assistant D.A. Michael Scott.

The session will be held Friday, Dec. 16 at 1 p.m. Pre-registration is required. 

Coffee hour 

This is held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.

Restorative yoga

Classes are held Fridays at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $5.

Pre-registration is required.

Parkinson’s Yoga 

Sessions are held Tuesdays at 1 p.m. For more information, call the Center.

Dance for Parkinson’s

Sessions, which are free, are held Mondays at 10:30 a.m.Walk-ins are welcome.

Parkinson’s Support Group

This will be held the second Tuesday of the month from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Open Studio art class

Classes will be held Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. and noon 12:00 beginning Jan. 17, 2023.

Students can work on projects with other artists and get instruction on an as needed basis.
