Here's what you need to know for the town election
It's election day in Dartmouth. Here's what you need to know before heading to the polls.
Polls for the annual town election open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
Beginning with this election, two precincts have changed locations. Precinct No. 1 voters will head to the Hixville Church, 1190 N. Hixville Road, and Precinct No. 4 will vote at the Dartmouth Bible Church, 52 Morton Ave.
Other voting precincts are as follows:
Precinct No. 2: Smith Mills Church, 11 Anderson Way; Precinct No. 3: Dartmouth Bible Church, 52 Morton Ave; Precinct No. 5: Town Hall, 400 Slocum Road; Precinct. No. 6: Dartmouth Senior Center, 628 Dartmouth Street; Precinct No. 7: Crapo Field, 225 Russells Mills Road; Precinct No. 8: Southworth Library, 732 Dartmouth Street; Precinct No. 9: Fire District No. 2, 1100 Russells Mills Road.
In the election's only contested race, Planning Board Clerk Lorri-Ann Miller and Finance Committee Chair David Tatelbaum are vying for a three-year Select Board seat. Incumbent Kelli Martin-Taglianetti decided not to seek another term.
Incumbent Select Board Chair Frank Gracie is running unopposed.
School Committee Chair Shannon Jenkins and Planning Board member John Sousa are running to keep their seats. Both are unopposed.
Other unopposed races include John Furtado for Assessor, Stanley J. Bielusiak and Ilene G. Levine for Trustees of the Free Public Libraries, Leslie E. J. McKinley for Board of Health, James Bosworth and Joan Britto for Parks Board, and David G. Brodeur and Bradford S. Thelin for Housing Authority seats. Town Clerk Lynn Medeiros is also on the ballot to keep her elected position. She is running unopposed.
