Here’s what’s happening at the Council on Aging this August

The Dartmouth Council on Aging has announced its list of events for the month of August.

Health and Wellness

The center is continuing its “Throw a Punch at Parkinson’s” boxing exercise program on Tuesdays, 1-2 p.m. Call the Center for more information.

There will be a new Nutritional Clinic offering free private consultations with Registered Dietician Katlynn Ferreira at the center on Tuesday, August 13 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (by appointment only).

A free blood pressure clinic will take place on Friday, August 9 and Friday, August 30 from 9-10 a.m. Walk ins are welcome.

Bring your health questions and concerns to Converse with the Nurse on Friday, August 30 at 10 a.m. 

Learn about Diabetes Shoes to help promote healthy feet at a clinic on Thursday, August 8 at 11 a.m.

An essential oil workshop will take place on Monday, August 22 at 11:15 a.m. Pre-registration requested.

Arts and Entertainment

The Country Three Band will be playing on Wednesday, August 7 and Wednesday, August 21 at 1:30-3:30 p.m. Cost: $4

A matinee screening of “Bohemian Rhapsody” will take place on Thursday, August 8 at 1:30 p.m. with free popcorn. Sign up required.

Participants in the Council’s Poetry Circle will write short form poetry for fun and self-discovery — no experience required. Wednesday, August 7 at 1 p.m.

Take a trip to the Dartmouth Farmers Market on Friday, August 23 at 1 p.m. Call the Center for more information.
