Historical and Arts Society to hold Annual Meeting and presentation
The Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society will host its Annual Meeting at the Russells Mills Schoolhouse on October 26, 6 p.m.
The Annual Meeting will include an election of the organization’s officers, and a discussion about the organization’s accomplishments and future plans.
After the business portion of the meeting, New Bedford Whaling Museum Director of Collections D. Jordan Berson will give a presentation.
Berson’s presentation will cover the museum’s collections of historical material, which includes more than 18,000 books and other primary source documents, objects including fine and decorative art, artifacts, technology, more than 200,000 photographs, images, and other visual material, and other items.
Berson began working for the museum four years ago after working for PBS and FOX, and the National Anthropological Archives of the Smithsonian. He is also a member of the Dartmouth Historical Commission.
The meeting and presentation will be held at the Russells Mills Schoolhouse, located at 1205 Russells Mills Road. Refreshments will be served. A donation of $5 is suggested to attend.
