History mystery: unknown photos added to Society’s collection
People got the chance to preserve and share history at the Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society’s first photo scanning day on Jan. 19.
Several people brought in old photos and documents to be scanned. The society also scanned some documents that were donated.
“We can preserve an electronic copy, so that’s a service we’re providing, and then we get the benefit of a copy of the picture,” Bob Harding said.
Some of the photos feature unknown people and locations. Anyone who can identify the people and places in these photos can respond to the “Mystery Photos” form on the society’s website, www.dartmouthhas.org, on the events page, or contact Web Master Dan Socha at firstname.lastname@example.org or 508-496-1108.
More of the Society’s photos can be viewed on the “Collections” page of their site.
