How to dispose of burnt out string lights
Dec 9, 2024
As residents prepare for the holidays and begin decorating their homes, any burnt out string lights should be brought to the Dartmouth Transfer Station at 976 Russells Mills Road for recycling.
String lights recycled at home can get stuck in the sorting machines at recycling facilities and won’t be recycled.
The transfer station is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. A transfer permit is required for drop-off.
Lights can be dropped off in containers near the shed at the station’s entrance.
If residents are unable to bring lights to the transfer station, they should place them in the trash.
