How to run for a Prudential Committee seat
Prudential Committees run each of Dartmouth's three fire districts, managing the finances of each department.
District No. 1 and No. 2 each have one opening for a three-year, Prudential Committee position.
District No. 3 has two openings: a three-year term and a two-year term on the Prudential Committee.
The last day to obtain nomination papers for the election is Thursday, March 2.
Nomination papers must be submitted to the Town Clerk's office — located at 400 Slocum Road — by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 6 for certification. Applicants must obtain 25 signatures of registered voters to be put on the election ballot as a candidate.
The last day to withdraw papers is Wednesday, March 22.
Town elections will be held on Monday, April 24. The last day to register to vote is Tuesday, April 4.
Fire District No. 1 is located at 10 Bridge Street. Fire District No. 2 is located at 1100 Russells Mills Road. Fire District No. 3 is located at 140 Cross Road. Candidates must live in the district of the department they intend to serve.
