James J. Rogers, 60, of New Bedford, died on May 10, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the son of the late Norman Earl Rogers, Sr. and Julia M. (Niles) Rogers.

Born in Acushnet, he resided in Dartmouth for most of his life and for the last several years resided in New Bedford.

Rogers was employed as a flooring installer. He enjoyed bowling and playing horseshoes.

His family includes his son, Brandon J. Rogers and his daughter, Stacy M. Rogers and their mother, Marlene V. Moreira, all of New Bedford; siblings Carol McAlpine, the late Earl Rogers, Barbara Allard, Shirley Lanouette, Betty Mendonca, Nancy Pereira, Gloria Lanouette and Diane West; four grandchildren, Alysia, Kaytlynn, Cole and Jayce; two great-grandchildren, Faith and Javien and many nieces and nephews.

Burial was at Pine Grove Cemetary. Funeral arranagements entrusted to Albertine-Lopes Funeral Home in New Bedford.
