John C. Delgado, 66, of Dartmouth, passed away on May 9, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family after fighting a brave and courageous battle with cancer.

He was the beloved husband of Maria Fatima (Reis) Delgado and the son of the late Maria da Luz (Jacome) and Manuel R.C. Delgado.

Delgado was born in St. Michael, Azores and moved to this country in 1968. He was the V.P. of Purchasing for Dartmouth Building Supply. John and his wife, Maria would have been married 43 years this month. He loved fishing, playing blackjack and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his two children, Shawn D. Delgado and his wife, Christina, and Laura Sousa and her husband Nuno; two grandchildren, Aiden and Emma Delgado; siblings Grace Moreira, Joseph Delgado, Mary Lou Delgado and the late Raimundo Delgado; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
