Join the Dartmouth Community Band for its first rehearsal

The Dartmouth Community Band will be kicking off its 50th season with an Open Rehearsal on Tuesday, June 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The rehearsal will be held at Dartmouth Middle School band room, located at 366 Slocum Rd. Dartmouth 02747. Attendees are asked to use the Hawthorn Street entrance to the band room.
Musicians, or those who once were and perhaps have the desire to play again, should consider dusting off that horn and joining the band for some “enjoyable community music-making,” the band said. All ages and skill levels are welcome.
The Dartmouth Community Band also offers free, family-oriented concerts every Tuesday night in July and August at Apponagansett Park on Gulf Road in Dartmouth, starting at 6:30 p.m. Under the direction of John Furtado, this group of volunteer musicians play a wide variety of musical selections, running the gamut from marches and Broadway hits that will have attendees singing and clapping along, according to the band.
