Junior Bird Club hosting night hike

Oct 12, 2016

The Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary’s Junior Bird Club will be hosting a night hike at Allens Neck on October 20 from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

The sanctuary’s Junior Bird Club is a free program group open to children and adults of all ages. Each month, club members meet to focus on a variety of local species of birds through hands-on field studies, guided walking tours and more.

The program also offers stewardship initiatives and projects, and kids are free to get involved with them as they wish.

Other events the Junior Bird Club has planned include a program on how birds prepare for the winter on November 17, a Christmas bird craft day on December 15, a class on building bluebird boxes on February 23, and how to install bluebird boxes on March 22.

Those wishing to attend should dress for the weather and bring binoculars. For those who do not have any, the sanctuary will provide binoculars.

Pre-registration for the program is required, and may be made by calling 508-636-2437 or by visiting massaudubon.org.
