Learn to make barn quilts at the Cultural Center

Oct 30, 2021

Dartmouth Cultural Center will host a class on how to create a barn quilt from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursdays Nov. 4 and 11 at the center, 404 Elm St.

Dartmouth Grange member Sharon Andrade will lead participants through all the steps, from selecting a design and choosing paint colors, to transferring the design to wood, and taping and painting successive colors.

Andrade will share plenty of tips about the process. Participants will have a choice of different designs.

Class fee includes painting tape and use of measuring and cutting tools.

Materials fee includes everything else participants will need: 1’ X 1’ sign-quality MDO plywood (sanded, edges filled with wood putty, pre-primed and pre-painted with high-quality white exterior paint), paint brush and jars of three different exterior paint colors.

Fee is $45 for members and $50 for non-members.
