Leonard S. Crane, 82, of S. Dartmouth, MA Leonard S. Crane of Dartmouth died July 9, 2020 at home. He was the husband of Shauneen S. (Goggin) Crane.

He was a longtime resident of Dartmouth. He graduated from New Bedford High School and received his undergraduate degree from UMass Dartmouth, formally New Bedford Institute of Technology, and went on to receive his master’s degree in education from Bridgewater State College.

He was an educator in the Fairhaven school system as both a teacher and guidance counselor. While at Fairhaven High School he coached both girl’s tennis and field hockey.

Upon retirement, he became a counselor at High Point outpatient treatment Center in New Bedford. He volunteered for many years at St. Luke’s Hospital and DNRT (Dartmouth Nature Reserve Trust). His hobbies included travel, golf, tennis, gardening and reading.

He is survived by his cherished wife of 58 years Shauneen S. Crane and his two sons, Gregory A. Crane and partner Samantha Linhares and Peter M. Crane and wife Leslie Crane. His sister Phyllis Peckham of West Yarmouth. His grandchildren Logan Crane, Sophie Crane, Ava Crane, Olivia Crane and Declan Crane.

He was a proud Army veteran, loved his country, his town and his friends, but nothing more than his family.

In accordance with his wishes he was cremated and all arrangements are private under the direction of Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth.
