Lloyd Center to host seal cruise

Mar 14, 2017

The Lloyd Center will host its Cuttyhunk Seal Cruise on March 25 from 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

The program, led by Jamie Bogart, will search for marine wildlife, including seals, in Buzzards Bay – an important stopover location for overwintering marine wildlife. The trip will feature a boat ride by Gull Island, located in between Cuttyhunk and Penikese Islands, where seals can be found during low tide.

After the viewing, the boat will dock on Cuttyhunk Island for lunch and an exploration of the island.

Participants are to meet at the Cuttyhunk Ferry Company parking lot located on the state pier off Route 18 in New Bedford (visit www.cuttyhunkferrycompany.com for directions), and are to arrive no later than 9:45am for check-in as the boat leaves at 10 a.m.

The cost is $43 for Lloyd Center members, $45 for non-members, $20 for children. Admission includes lunch and a packet of background materials. A cash only snack bar is located on the vessel.

To register, call the Lloyd Center Event Line 508-558-2918 or visit www.lloydcenter.org and register online.

Registration deadline is Thursday, March 23, 4 p.m. For specific questions, contact Jamie at jbogart@lloydcenter.org or 508-990-0505 ext. 23.
