Planning Board member Lorri-Ann Miller has announced her intent to seek election to the Select Board.

Miller, who has served on the Planning Board since 1991, took out nomination papers to run for Kelli Martin Taglianetti’s Select Board seat. Taglianetti is a candidate up for re-election, however she has not yet filed papers to run.

Miller is currently unopposed.

“There are a lot of projects I want to get involved in on the Select Board’s level,” Miller said, listing off the new and old police stations, the Old Southworth Library reuse and the construction of a new library as issues she hopes to work on if elected.

She also wants to help keep Dartmouth on solid financial footing, as decisions may need to be made in the future as less money is coming in than in years past.

She ran for Select Board last year, challenging incumbent Stanley Mickelson for his seat. She ultimately lost by 241 votes.

“That wasn’t a huge number of votes to lose by,” Miller said.

Since then, many people have asked her to run again, and offered their support to help out.

The town election is on April 3. Incumbent Frank Gracie is also running to keep his seat. So far he is also unopposed.
