Mario Marini, 75, of South Dartmouth, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 17 after a brief illness.

Born in Boston, he was son of the late Venerio and Maria (Bondi) Marini. He lived in South Dartmouth with his loving wife of 30 years, Linda (Wolkon) Marini.

Mario was the former President of Canam Steel Corporation in its Needham Sales and Engineering Office, where he worked for 30 years until his retirement in 1990.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Matthew Marini, daughter Deana Marini Malone of North Easton, grandson Nelson Malone, and many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. He was the brother of the late Marino Marini and Marina Marini.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 12 p.m. in the Chapel at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham St., Sharon, MA 02067.

Mario will be missed by many family members and friends whose lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, compassion and humor.

Family and friends are invited to visit the Marini home on Thursday and Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
