Marion S. Mahoney, 100
Marion S. Mahoney, 100, of Dartmouth died Dec. 30 peacefully at Brookdale Senior Living.
She was the wife of the late Dr. James Henry "Harry" Mahoney.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John W. and Esther M. (Knowles) Spencer, she lived in New Bedford for many years until moving to South Dartmouth and Pompano Beach, FL.
Mrs. Mahoney was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Dartmouth.
She was a graduate of Holy Family High School and St. Luke's School of Nursing.
Mrs. Mahoney enjoyed playing golf and cards. She was a former member of the Country Club of New Bedford.
Survivors include her son, Lt. Col. James P. Mahoney and his wife Judy of Henderson, NV; two daughters, Jane M. Frisch and her husband William of Greensboro, NC and Sheila M. Thompson of Dartmouth; four grandchildren, Benjamin Frisch, Matthew Frisch, Timothy Thompson and Andrew Thompson; and two great-grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Timothy P. Mahoney.
Her funeral was held on Saturday, Jan. 2 at 9 a.m. from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals in New Bedford, followed by her funeral mass at St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery.
