Services were held for Mark A. Sylvia, 67, of So. Dartmouth, who died Sunday, August 14, 2022. He was the husband of Joanne F. (Eisely) Sylvia and son of the late Everett and Shirley (Lake) Sylvia.

Born in New Bedford, Mark resided in Dartmouth for most of his life. He was employed as a dock worker in the fishing industry for several years. Mark enjoyed playing chess, fishing, playing his guitar and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His family includes his wife, Joanne F. Sylvia; 1 son, Daniel and his wife, Catarina; 2 daughters, Jennifer and Stacy and her fiancé, Billy; 1 brother, Scott; 4 grandchildren, Sky, Shaun, Jacob and Joshua and 2 great-grandchildren, Jessalynn and Bryce. Brother of the late Bruce and Lisa and uncle of the late Joshua.

Donations may be made in Mark's memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
