Mirasol’s to open New Bedford location next month

May 6, 2022

CHiPPi-mania will no longer be contained to just Dartmouth.

New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell announced via Facebook Thursday night that it will be opening a second location on the city’s waterfront next month.

“With the Black Whale, the Whale’s Tale Clam Bar and Acushnet Creamery just steps away, this will be where diets come to an abrupt end,” he wrote.

Mirasol’s confirmed the news hours later on their Facebook page.

“You’ve heard it here first!!” the post read.

The Café is notably known for serving their signature drink, the CHiPPi — unique highly caffeinated iced coffee that has been served at its 439 State Road location since 2006.

The new spot for the popular Latin American-influenced cafe will be located in the Wharfinger Building located at 52 Fisherman’s Wharf located on Pier 3. The building previously served as the Waterfront Visitor Center, but is currently closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

No specific date was provided for the opening. A representative from the cafe could not be reached for further information.
