A New Bedford man was arrested for allegedly breaking into a vehicle near the town line on April 13.

According to Dartmouth police, officers responded to Walsh Street on a report of a male breaking into a vehicle at 12:20 a.m. The officers observed a man walking near the New Bedford line who allegedly matched the suspect description.

After an investigation, 51-year-old Joaquim Fortes was charged  with felony breaking and entering into a vehicle during the nighttime and larceny of property valued under $1,200.
